Coming from a family of musicians, Swiss mezzo-soprano Anna Nero is establishing herself on the European stage. A graduate of the Hochschule Luzern Musik, she has performed notable roles such as Eloisa (Bianca e Fernando, Donizetti, 2018), Tisbe (La Cenerentola, Rossini), Annina (La Traviata, Verdi, 2019), and Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus, J. Strauss, 2020). In concert, she has appeared at the Tonhalle Zürich (El amor brujo, de Falla, 2021), performing also Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, Donizetti’s Requiem, and works by Bach and Zelenka with the Zürcher Kammerorchester(2023). In 2024, she sang Dvořák’s Stabat Mater in Chur. She also performs at sporting events (national anthems) and has collaborated with rapper Luuk on the album Tohuwabohu (Sony Music, 2022). Winner of several awards, including the Encouragement Prize of the Elvira Lüthi-Wegmann Foundation and the Migros Competition, she is also a Richard Wagner Society of Switzerland scholarship recipient (2019).
